Solution
Cosmepack client supplied the artwork, which historically had always been of a very high standard. However on closer inspection by our technical team found out that the artwork had been laid out in such a way that a percentage of the image that appeared on one page would need to register when it was folded with the page before or after it. However, despite that this process is a good one, there was need for carefulness because when printing, the colors must match exactly. If the colors didn't, when the sections are folded and saddle stitched together, the images, won't match when folded together.
Using a 6 color Heidelberg printing press, we created these brochures using Adobe InDesign containing the images for the different products. Netpack made sure that during Diecutting, Folding and gathering, the sections are stitched together the images would register without been out of alignment.
Cosmepack then explained that they wanted an aqueous coating for the inside images and for the cover. We explained that using this type of coating would be fine for the covers, however to register this process with the images as well as the text would again prove to be very difficult and any slight miss register would have an extremely detrimental effect on the look of the cover. We recommended the use of spot varnishes would make all the customers products on the brochures to match properly when printed.
Given that the client also wanted the cover to take the shapes of their carrying cases, we die-cut a unique geometric cover and then placed a die-cut tongue on this cover making the brochure to resemble a Cosmepack case when closed. The thickness of the paper stock combined with the die-cut designs, made the brochure to stand-up on its own accord and be displayed vertically without toppling over.
Cosmepack extremely happy with the final product not just because they finally got their desired sooner than expected, their business reach improved as the brochure was clearly produced with care and precision. They related this to the relationship we developed with them as we worked on a mutual interest with excellent communication throughout the process.
